I love a good fresh start.
Mondays are by far my favorite. (Weird, I know.) But you give me a brand new month that starts on a Monday and I am almost overwhelmed with emotion for the potential to be realized. Cue September and the Hallelujah chorus.
While I absolutely adored this summer, September is the month all ESFJ’s.were.born.for.
Give me the routines and the new planner, the kids who are still marginally agreeable at 6:35 am and the lunchboxes that aren’t yet growing mold.
Yes. I know the new school shoes will be scuffed by next Friday, and I know that after a bout with depression last fall I cannot find my hope in a fresh start and a clean slate; BUT I can definitively say that the Author and Sustainer of the Universe knew what He was up to when He created each and every season.
So, here’s to you, September.
Here’s to Fresh Fall Rhythms & Rituals. (Otherwise known as attempting to delete the traffic jam of life that built up this summer. Anyone else?? Aka, organize all the things, widen the margins and depending on the Spirit to make all the things that REALLY matter happen!)
Here’s to a Fresh Year of Christ-centered Campus Ministry. Because, I mean, HELLO, God is stirring revival on the college campus!!!
And here’s to a fresh season of following Him & loving them!
How are you feeling as we transition into the Fall? Wherever you are, I pray these verses will call you away from self-effort and self-improvement and to dependence on God’s power to thrive in each and every season.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.
Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD.

For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light
