This morning I woke up with such peace and joy and energy! I haven’t woke up feeling that way in a while. I know that it’s a direct result to the faithful prayers of our friends and family. Thank you so, so, so much for interceding on our behalf. We are so grateful!
About an hour of so ago, Joel and I were huddled down in the atrium of our house during an intense thunderstorm, here in Columbia. There were power outages, hail, high winds and limbs falling all over our house. Only 1 month ago, our sweet friends, the Karls, lost everything in the Tuscaloosa tornadoes, so bad storms have a whole new meaning to us. Not to mention the tragedy in Joplin!
As we sat in floor in the center of little house, with our eyes on the radar, we reflected that though the eye of the storm seemed to be right above us (in more ways than one!) we knew nothing could touch us that didn’t first filter through God’s hand of love.
We are so grateful for the fruits of the Holy Spirit and for Scripture that has permeated our hearts.
I’ll leave you with a powerful devotional and words of wisdom via my sweet friend Mrs. Jeanne.
“The only way to learn strong faith is to endure great trials.” (quote from George Mueller)
“Dear one, you scarcely realize the value of your present opportunity; if you are passing through great afflictions you are in the very soul of the strongest faith, and if you will only let go, He will teach you in these hours the mightiest hold upon His throne which you can ever know.
What time I am afraid I will trust in Thee, and you will yet thank God for the the school of sorrow which was to you the school of faith. (quote from A.B. Simpson)
Be encouraged, my Friend, Kitty. This season of your life is a very special one…. and the Lord will bring the two of you victoriously through.
