So thankful…

One Calvert Thanksgiving Day tradition is to pass around kernels of corn (representing the food the Pilgrims had to eat on their first Thanksgiving Day) and for each kernel, we share something for which we are grateful. So, here’s a shout out from Memphis to the Calvert’s in Huntington.

  1. I am thankful for precious in-laws who care for me so well.
  2. I am thankful for wireless internet which keeps me connected to friends and family.
  3. I am thankful for God’s amazing grace.
  4. I am thankful for that grace being displayed in my life in countless ways…
  5. I am thankful for my incredible husband of 1 year, 3 months and 15 days.
  6. I am thankful for the 8-point buck he shot this week which will provide us with yummy food.
  7. I am thankful that my cooking is better this year than it was last year.
  8. I am thankful for my digital camera which helps me savor each incredible day of life.
  9. I am thankful for Scripture which gives me a standard for living that life.
  10. I am thankful for Joel’s humor.
  11. I am thankful for laughter.
  12. I am thankful for chocolate.
  13. I am thankful for good books.
  14. I am thankful for a healthy family.
  15. I am thankful for our job and for those who make it possible for us to be on campus.
  16. I am thankful for how God is moving in the lives of our students.
  17. I am thankful for our little rental house in Columbia, SC.
  18. I am thankful my parents took me on missions’ trips growing up.
  19. I am thankful that God is at work all around the world.
  20. I am thankful for front porches and southern hospitality.
  21. I am thankful for beaches.
  22. I am thankful for fresh flowers at the farmer’s market.
  23. I am thankful for Saturday morning breakfasts with Joel.
  24. I am thankful for the seasons of my life in WV, Charlotte and Columbia.
  25. I am thankful for blogging–it’s so therapeutic!

  1. I love this list!!!

    I am so thankful that I have found Charlotte to be such a spiritually nurturing place. It was scary to leave the city you felt comfortable in and start a new life somewhere else. I never realized the full extent of God’s purpose in bringing us here but I now see numerous ways that he has blessed my marriage, my home, and my growing family.
