Surprise 30th!

Even though Joel had been acting a tad weird all that week…I had NO idea what was REALLY going on behind my back.

It was Saturday night and we were headed to the Murphy’s to watch football (boo for not getting a photo with the Murphy’s?!?)…but SURPRISE!!! So many fun friends had gathered to wish me a Happy 30th!

There were wonderful staff friends…

There were precious church friends…

Dear Community Group friends…

Cherished Newlywed Sunday School friends…

Beautifully serendipitous friends…

And friends that got a babysitter and drove 2 hours…

And one majorly handsome friend that pulled off a seriously amazing birthday celebration…

Sweet Anna Claire made my birthday VERY Pinterest-esque…

A cute banner AND a beautiful table runner :)

And even a monogram?!?

And thoughtful Merideth made this meaningful cook of a collection of letters from some far away friends!

And the creativity didn’t stop there…

Joel morphed “The Wonder Years” theme song to make a precious slide show of my life…even with a Skype from both our parents!?! Seriously, so thoughtful and such hard work.

I couldn’t even believe it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and even though all week I had said that my birthday was “low key” which at first was a disappointment, but then was really good for me, it ended up being such a *bang* that I was a touch overwhelmed by being the center-of-attention! It’s so sweet feeling so loved.

As John Lenon said, “Count your age by your friends, not your years. Count your life by your smiles and not your tears.”
