Here is the video coverage of our “Sex and the City Uncovered Outreach” it is really encouraging. I am so proud of the girls for stepping out in faith and sharing a little bit of their lives on camera.
My favorite scene is when the camera pans out over the 300+ crowd at our outreach!
I love my girls!!
Through this outreach we have seen 6 girls’ lives radically transformed by Christ for the first time and many others moved to love Him more. Hallelujah, what a Savior!
This weekend at our briefing for going overseas Joel and I were challenged in a “Transitioning to the Gospel” seminar about ministering to a post-modern world.
The speaker challenged us to not separate our worlds into what “seems spiritual” and what “seems secular”. Using Acts 17 he asked us to consider with John Eldredge that “all of creation echoes of the Creator” and therefore we can study our culture and find ways to transition conversations to Christ. He took the Good Charlotte song “We Believe” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CUzI38U8Iw and this Linkin Park video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_eEE12R8Gw and had the staff and students come up with 20 ways to transition their friends to the Gospel from these songs.
I wish you could have heard the students reactions as this way of thinking resonated with them. It was crazy. They had a newfound excitement for being detectives of the world around them and using the clues they found to point their friends (and the people of Sweden, East Asia, Argentina, the Middle East, Russia and Central Asia) to our loving and holy Creator.
I went for a run this morning and was thinking/praying about all the students and friends that fall prey to bad theology or feeling that Christianity is irrelevant to their lives…I wanted to show also you an awesome article I found about ministering to post moderns…I googled “ministering to post modern” and this is what I got…it might be helpful for people in your sphere of influence. I think I am going to put all this together in a letter and somehow communicate with my favorite post-modernists…
Love you guys!
Here is a great article on Preaching the Gospel in a Postmodern Society:
