The final week of Greek Summit has been nothing short of amazing.
This week’s focus was each student forming a “Vision Plan” for their campus. It was amazing to hear these students so passionate about praying for their campus, sharing Christ, discipling others and sending trained laborers into the Harvest! Praise God!
Grant, a Beta at Auburn, has now begun to walk with the Lord as a result of coming to Greek Summit! What’s really crazy is that the Lord laid it on his heart to sell his car this week to start a foundation for orphans in Nicaragua…God has great things in store for Grant and his ministry!
Mary-Catherine is one of the girl’s I discipled this summer. Here is her awesome “Vision Plan” for the Zeta house at Georgia this next year:
I can’t wait to get back and serve God at UGA…over the last couple of days I have realized how much of my heart is poured into my sorority…I can’t imagine not knowing those girls now! and definitely not seeing them forever with Jesus in heaven! anyways…i can’t wait to see what He does this year!
“The vision of a champion is someone who is bent over, drenched in sweat at the point of exhaustion when no one else is watching” – Anson Dorrance
I want to help zeta to create champions for Christ, constantly workin for the Lord and serving Him. Not only serving Christ in the house but reaching out and helping God’s kingdom “when no one else is watching”. I feel like a lot of people mark themselves as Christians throughout the chapter but still live their lives thru their control and self glorification. But this statement is NOT meant to cause others to be judgmental and create a rift in our sisterhood…I just know for a while it was easy to live as a self pleaser than a God pleaser. I believed in God and what Jesus did for me…but did not have a true one on one relationship between me and the Creator of the universe. But once I handed over the controls, got into God’s word and truly sought after Him versus me and my own agenda, I began to grow and watch as God is working throughout zeta and the bible studies (along with the girls in house and in my pledge class). I feel like the bible study helps us to seek godly fellowship and safety spending time in His word. The question is what now?
In 3-5 years I hope and pray that God will help those girls along with me in zeta will develop a more real and deep relationship with God. Zeta has a rep for a good girl sorority…but don’t get me wrong we still have our wild side too. It is my hope and prayer that 897 be filled with constant flow and prayer flowing in from those living in the house and older girls while also lovingly sharing their stories and the gospel with their “sisters”. I hope that our prayer room not be mocked (if it is…i have no idea…) but it be a place we fall flat on our faces and proclaim Jesus is Lord. I feel led to reach out to those around me and share what I know for the year I will be living in the house (maybe two :D). I am so excited about going back to school and love everything God is doing through our chapter…we are so blessed.
Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you have planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare. Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but my ears you have pierced, burnt offerings and sins you did not require. Then I said, “Here I am, I have come – it is written about me in the scroll. I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.
This is my prayer and hope for zeta. You’re awesome and I wouldn’t be here if you hadn’t answered God’s call! So thank you God and thank you chal :D
There are countless stories of changed lives this summer and countless plans that God has laid on the hearts of our students. Please pray for them as they go back home for the rest of the summer. They need your prayers!
