Yes! I have found a new yummy eatery here in Columbia. Well, West Columbia that is.

Mrs. Murphy and my friend/her daughter, Melissa, loaded up the car and headed to “Good Life Cafe” on Leaphart Road.

It is slap-yo-mama good…and it’s seriously good for you!

Pimento Cheese anyone? Right, well, it’s vegan. So there’s no cheese or pimentos in this dip…but it is crazy good.

Or how about some Pad Thai?

Who knew that jicama, carrots, mango, coconut and ginger could give one of my fave noodley Thai dishes a run for it’s money?

The vegan sky is the limit at this place. I highly recommend the Mock Chicken Salad and the Pesto Over Zucchiniii Noodles. Yummm.

Need to grab and go? The smoothies and fresh juices are made daily…and I heard the “Spring Cleaning” elixir (made of Pineapples, lemons, grapefruit, ginger and apples) does wonders for your digestive system :)

Saturday Morning

On any given Saturday you can find the Hurdles or the Hurdles and friends at one of our favorite lively spots.

We love to spend a Saturday morning in Columbia at the All Local Farmer’s Market.

They serve up a lovely breakfast from either Rosso, a yummy Italian restaurant in Forest Acres. Or Gervais & Vine, an amazing tapas restaurant in the Vista. Each week you can choose from fruit, biscuits, frittatas, grits, etc. It’s an awesome breakfast for $5!

Here are some of the sights and sounds that we enjoy…

Wonderful greens and veggies from City Roots, the sustainable farm in our downtown neighborhood! It’s so cool.

I’m also in love with all the fresh flowers!

Music to my soul!

It’s mesmerizing to watch the local artisans.

And when you collect crosses, it’s mesmerizing to find one for $4!! :)

I love the local personality and music.

I love sampling and enjoying all the local cheeses and fresh breads!

I love the beauty of all the fresh veggies…

But I love the $10 price tage of the co-op I do with church friends much more! :)

How will you spend YOUR Saturday morning? Please do tell!
