I am kind of a resource queen.
What is that you might ask? That is what you call yourself if… You still have file folders full of notes from sermons you heard in middle school.
Which leads me to my point. Joel made me get rid of 90% of my “files” when we merged lives/offices. But, I kept on reserve my favorite thought-provoking resources.
And since “thought-provoking” works with “Thursday”…Wallah! We have a blog post.
Ann Judson, (1789-1826), the first American female missionary to go overseas. She sailed with her husband, Adoniram, for Calcutta, India in 1812. After they were bitterly opposed they ministered in Burmah. She dealt with hardship after hardship and ministered to many. Here are her words:
“I sometimes feel very thankful that God has called me from my friends and native land, to a land of strangers, of spiritual darkness and death, thereby giving me an opportunity of denying myself those entanglements, on which I have been too prone to set my heart, and has thereby, I trust, led me to feel more deeply my dependence on Him, and choose Him for my only portion.”
May our blessings be just that, blessings, and not entangling idols.
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:26
