Happy Wednesday!
I hope everyone has had a good week, but I know many of us are dealing with some hard stuff right now. I want tonight to be a time of encouragement and peace in the midst of our crazy lives. Same time, same place (8:30 tv room). Read Chapter 3 and bring your books and bibles.

Today I was reading in John 15 go read its so good! But i want to share a couple of verses with you.

9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I HAVE TOLD YOU THIS SO THAT MY JOY MAY BE IN YOU AND THAT YOUR JOY MAY BE COMPLETE. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

There are a couple of major points in this passage.
1. Jesus loved us…first. (just like His Father)
2. The way we show Jesus we love Him is by following His commands.
3. Obeying him does not save us but it gives us the ability to receive the joy of Christ.
4. Jesus showed us his love by dying for us!!!!!
5. We are in MAJOR debt to Him yet He calls us friend.

*We OBEY Him because we LOVE Him, we LOVE Him because we KNOW Him and KNOW what He has done for us, we KNOW Him because he chose to reveal Himself to us. So if today you are finding it hard to obey God or feel love for Him, start at the beginning. Go spend time with Him in His word. Ask God to show you who He is and to show you the magnitude of what Jesus did on the cross. Ask Him to reveal Himself so that you can know, love, and obey Him.

Love you sweet girls!

Subject: Encouragement!

Hi friends!

Sorry to be blowing up your inbox with yet another message. But God really blessed me with this yesterday so I wanted to pass it along! It’s from “Let the Nations Be Glad” by John Piper. It says, “when it looks as though He is buried for good, Jesus is doing something awesome in the dark. ‘The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground. He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows; he knows not how.’ Mark 4:26-27.”

I was so encouraged by this! I know my house, along with many others, have been facing like hardship or even opposition to the ministry we’re doing in the GV but this verse/quote reminds us that God does amazing things in the dark! And that we won’t always see how He works things out, but to be reminded that He is completing the task at hand. Our work isn’t empty but it’s being blessed by God in ways we’ll never comprehend! :) So for those of y’all with also “dark” houses, know that God loves to surprise us, and that He’s not hindered even though we may be. And for those of y’all in more accepting houses, thank you for praying diligently for the work of God to be brought to completion in the GV. It’s obvious that He’s moving mightily, and it should humble us that He’s chosen US to be a part of miraculous life change!

Love y’all & am so thankful for each one of you. Have a happy Tuesday!

Praise the Lord for college students who’ve been redeemed and whose lives have been set on a path of helping others experience redeeming love!
